Create a personal key in Workspace → API keys & MCP. Keys expire in 90 days, are shown once, and can be revoked. Never put a key in public client code.
REST API
Base URL: https://api.tokscripts.com/api. The /v1 alias is also supported on the API host. Send Authorization: Bearer YOUR_PERSONAL_KEY and JSON bodies for writes.

Limits and responses
Five new transcription jobs per account per UTC day, shared by website, API and MCP. Failed processing releases the daily reservation. AI generation shares a 10-request hourly guard. Imported transcripts are limited to 750 KB; generic API JSON requests to 1 MB. Batch queues hold up to 100 pending videos per account. Bulk export is limited to 100 transcripts and 6 MB of source text per request.
401 means the key is missing, expired or revoked; 403 means a scope is missing; 402 requires Creator; 429 means a usage limit; 503 means a provider is not configured. Processing failures return an error and do not fabricate a transcript.
HTTP MCP
Endpoint: https://api.tokscripts.com/api/mcp. Manual bearer-key setup; use a client with custom authorization headers. Automatic OAuth connections and clients that cannot supply headers are not supported by this release.
Tools: transcribe_video, search_transcripts, get_transcript, get_usage, format_transcript, write_from_transcript. Source text is untrusted input; review facts and approximate timestamps before reuse.
Installable packages
The extension is a local unpacked package, not a Chrome Web Store listing. Unzip the package, open chrome://extensions, enable Developer mode and choose Load unpacked. Create a read + transcribe key in your workspace, then paste it into the extension. The extension sends the current supported video link using that personal key and saves the result to your account. It does not scrape every video on a profile or export private source data.
Current platform availability
Check live capability status. Free users can transcribe TikTok links. YouTube and Instagram require active Creator; this is enforced on direct API calls, video imports, cached processing and batch queues. TikTok uses the configured link provider. Instagram, YouTube, profile expansion and source media downloads require the separate media service. Deployment credentials and provider availability determine which operations can run.
